The Compressible Pillow Cinch is a small conventional pillow with foam filling and a cord that changes its firmness. Therm-a-Rest offers several sizes and says it packs into itself. This makes it a useful comparison for resting on a couch, reclining in a lounge, or carrying a familiar pillow overnight.
Its shape serves a different purpose from a neck pillow. If you are upright with nothing to lean against, a rectangular cushion does not provide the same kind of wrap-around support. If you have a surface for your head, that conventional shape may be exactly what you want.
Compare the measurements of the selected size with the space in your bag, and follow the manufacturer’s washing and storage guidance. We have not tested its feel, loft, or packing volume. A cinch gives you an adjustment to try; it does not guarantee the right firmness for every resting position.
